About Amelia
Amelia Patamia
Provisional Certified Practising Speech Pathologist
Amelia is a Provisional Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia. She obtained her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne in 2024.
Amelia has experience working with individuals up to 18 years of age who have a range of communication needs. Her professional interests lay in the areas of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), neurodiversity affirming therapy, speech sound difficulties and literacy/spelling difficulties.
Prior to her accreditation, Amelia has worked across numerous private practices in the Macedon Ranges since 2020, she embarked on a traineeship to be a Neurodiverse Gym Instructor and has been an independent support worker since 2021, where she has worked with many neurodivergent individuals, as well as chronic illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, Hypotonia and Cerebral Palsy.
Amelia joined the Thrive team at the end of 2024, where she began as an Allied Health Assistant before moving into her Speech Pathology role. Amelia is a powerful advocate for the AAC and neurodivergent community and aims to foster a calm, safe and positive environment for all her sessions.
When she is not at work, Amelia is busy watching the latest movies and TV shows both in cinema’s and on her couch, as well as dancing, and camping around Australia with her fur-babies, Mannix & Archie.
